Davis in Maine
January 10, 2009
After 1 year Davis has now mde the transition from puppy to dog, but he never ceases to provide us with new experiences
and demonstrates endless wonderment at the things he discovers in the world. He has grown into a wonderful companion
and a very well adjusted little man. Davis is always looking to make new friends and loves big and small dogs alike.
He has become known as the neighborhood ambassador and wherever he goes he can put even the most skidish dog at ease with
a kiss on the cheek. Nearly everyone who meets him asks what type of dog he is... all we can say is that he had a good Westie
mom and the rest is wonderful surprise.

At night and in the morning
his favorite place is cuddling right next to you on the couch or hoping you will give him a spot on your lap. We had quite
an exciting Fall taking a trip to the Maine coast and seeing the ocean and had a wonderful holiday with him
at home. Davis got his own stocking on the mantle and a little
red cable-knit sweater for Christmas, which made him look like he was ready to invite friends over for egg-nog and Christmas
carols.
We are excited to see what
the next year brings for Davis and what his next adventure
will be...

Davis had a great 4th of July at our friend's lakehouse (see pictures attached) and even went swimming for the first
time. He made two new friends with Buddy and Molly, two big labs, and followed them everywhere in true Beta fashion. He
has now been neutered and is recovering nicely. He is excited to get out and play again tomorrow after his staples are
removed.
More adventures to come.

Davis...the Man
June 11, 2008
We are doing great, especially Davis! He is teething right now a little but all together doing okay. Some big
developments coming as well. First, he is about to move up one size for his crate, which gives you an idea how much
he is growing. Second, he has his first grooming appointment tomorrow and will be getting his summer hair cut so he
can play in this tough GA heat.
Davis is a great friend to us both and he stayed overnight with friends for a few days who are now in love with him.
While they have their own dog, they complemented on how agreeable Davis was and how willing he was to play or just hang out
next to you. He loves other dogs and will be getting a big treat soon as he takes his first trip to the Lake for
the summer.
Here is a two new pics of Davis for you to enjoy! More to come soon. We promise!

Davis has completed all his shots and is ready for school (well at least daycare). He has
also been doing very well adjusting to walking around the neighborhood and meeting other dogs and their owners as he makes
his way around the block. We often join up with other dogs and their parents along the way and Davis and his new friend
go for a short walk together. He is a good student, learning a lot from his new mentors about how to go on a walk with
the human folk. He is now up to 7.5 lbs more than twice the weight that we first adopted him at and we are wondering
how big he will actually get.

Davis -- March 2008
March 29, 2008
A big hello from Davis! It is hard to believe it has almost been a month since we took Davis home. He is
progressing very well, learning something new everyday yet still living up to expectations of stretching his boundaries.
Overall, Davis has been a pleasure right from the beginning and so much of that can be attributed to his foster parents
that handed over a very well prepared puppy. From the first night, Davis has been a good sleeper, never whining for
more than a few minutes when he goes in his crate and sleeping through much of the night, typically only needing to go out
once. However, like we said his mischievous side comes out as he seems to always know about 10 minutes before the alarm
goes off to whine to go outside.
Davis has taken very well to going outside and is down to only having the occasional
accident inside at this point. He however, enjoys the distraction of the many pine cones in the yard to peeing but has
learned where to do his business none the less. Yesterday he went on his first full walk around our block (about a 1/4
mile) and has started to meet all the people in the neighborhood. He is a big hit with everyone, refusing no one a big
kiss on the nose. It has been nice for his parents to finally have him walking on a leash as it provides a much better
way to get him the exercise he needs.
Davis was also a big hit at the vet and has his third round of puppy shots now.
The vet says he is very healthy and developing nicely. Of course, we seem to talk more about his health including his
poop then we ever thought possible and with surprising interest.
Davis is very well loved by all getting lots of toys
and treats from friends and family. His favorites are his puppy kong, his yellow duck, papa bear, but still pays lots
of attention to his bottle that his foster parents gave him. He has also had his first puppy play date with his friend
Sophie.
Our favorite hour with him is 9pm right before bed when he curls up in your lap and cuddles for a bit.
We
look forward to providing many more updates. Many thanks to George and Jeannie for continuing to keep up the website
and for encouraging us to submit updates. More to come soon!
